Home prices are still on the rise across the state, and so are sales.
The monthly report from the Iowa Association of Realtors indicates the median sales prices was up nearly eight percent from a year ago to $161,860.
The average prIces rose as well to $135,000 from $129,000 a year ago. Sales increased 3.7% year to year with 3,875 homes changing hands.
The association says days on the market continued to drop down 23.5% from a year ago to just 75 days compared to 98 days in 2012.
IAR President Don Marple says statewide inventories were down 6.4% from a year ago despite a nearly 4% increase in active listings. He adds the current inventory combined with pending sales indicates the market wil remain strong this fall.
